A Day with Jeni

Nothing like spending the day with your bestest friend. Jeni was with us while her dad Zac is getting better. 3 Girls age five and under can only mean changing clothes 800 times, lots of popcorn (albiet from a bag since we don't own a microwave, sorry Jeni) the movie, "Happily N'ver After" and lots and lots and lots of Sit-N-Spin. Come back anytime Jen!

Toady Tuesday

An evening bike ride on the creeper trail inspired dreams of frogs. Oh, it was a frog, in bed, on my kids head, par for the course. I am partially to blame for this but the second mystery which dealt with gobs of toothpaste on Hopes armpit may never be solved. Much thanks to Connecticut grandma for "Pengui." Who's better than you?
Shorty's one line in her school play went off well. Good job. But, her bud Risham is moving this summer though and will be mished. Missed, sorry.

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial day weekend and happy Pentacost Sunday --which commemorates the descent of the Holy spirit upon the apostles and the followers of Jesus as described in the Book of Acts, Chapter 2. Penatcost Sunday saw symbolic red on most of team shocker as you can see above. We could have used some of those supernatural gifts from Acts, such as speaking in others tongues, as nature was having issues on Windsor today. It never is a good sign to hear your five year old say, "Hope, just look at its eyes, if you see an X, that means he is dead," which is how I happened on her and her two year old sister petting a dead squirrel. It was in mint condition though, guess it was on the short side of a tangle with a power line. Also, two baby blue jays were lost, dazed and confused, see above, we tried sorting this out and occupying Henry so he didn't eat them. Other days events: K went off to see a nine hour Pirates movie which I am sure she will review later, while the two runts hung with Papa Shock for Round Two and Three of slip and slide and enjoying the 87 degree sun. Shorty was off with her bud to see Shrek 3, which I am sure she will review later, at the DRIVE-IN (what is better than that?) movie theatre. Nachos (not Wilson style, sorry Jeffrey) and margaritas was a perfect cap to a great day. Hope everyones went equally well...

Get healing Zac

Team Shockley split up with the middle going with K and the littlest choosing Papa Shock. K met up with her old AllState bud Teresa and wandered Plumb alley day -- collection of good intentioned (read:deviants) peddling their wares (read:crap.) Something good came of the trip though, Cotton candy (Hope digging above.) Hope and I went to the park and Lowes to get a 100' sheet of plastic (heck yeah, slip and slide) and we attempted to set an Abingdon record for our upcoming water bill. Then off to see our buddy Zac who broke his back taking a 35' plunge from some rocks on the creeper trail. Get well Zac. Looked great despite only three days removed from his spill and surgery. Lastly a trip to our sushi joint Osaka, nothing better than soft shell crab sushi says Hope and Emma, not really -- took several minutes to choke it down but at least they tried it. They shook me down for a buck, but a small diversion later they had long forgot about the dollar and it never had to leave my wallet.

From Niagra to Viagra

Finally came through on giving K her Mothers Day gift, a trip to the Barter Theatre and a rare (extremely) trip w/o the kids. Coffee, dessert, a perfect night, and a good show. Only drawback is the seats seem to have been installed when men resembled Buster Keaton stature-wise. The ushers fortunately were equipped with a shoe horn and wedged us in between an opera singer and a man with arm weight approximating a small automobile. I know because it was resting on my right leg. The kids were in capable hands of the Fabulous Erin, who did a great job, and reinforced my belief that I over-estimate my role in the safety of our little ones.

We're naughty but humble pirates...

"This bedtime madness applies not to me!" -- Ems and Isa rocking the fabric scraps only to get upstaged in the bizarre department by this evenings rendition of the serenade D'Henry.

Balls

Man, brussel sprouts, salad, and corn. What a crap dinner. Someone must pay, and pay dearly. How bout some paint, Mr. Baseball?!?

Weekend Softball -- May 19-20

Yeah Rachel!
Lost 3, won 1, but all were close and we were treated to some good pitching and hitting from our Shorty. Grandparents also on hand to witness this triple, shown in flight above, among many hits. Also a visit to see our buddies, Team DiBello (one member of TDiB pictured above -- the dashing Blake), even though they are selfishly moving to another continent, I believe, some third-world country know to others as "Missouri." They suck, but I think the company line is that we love them and wish them well.....They suck.
