100

Emma celebrated the 100th day of school last week. They got cool "100" hats, made necklaces made of 100 fruit loops, and she brought home a worksheet that they did in class.

If I had $100.00 I would... I save it. she wrote and drew a picture of a safe.

David and I just looked at each other, my guess was watching too much SpongeBob and he just drew a blank. Jeesh.

I was in the kids area today when I saw a list of words written by Emma. I recognized all of them, and some in their misspelled forms. Then I got to the last one and had to sit down on the chair and work it out... I'll let all you G-parents who love crosswords, cryptiquotes and sukodo's figure it out for yourselves....

ps. we have our new computer - but we need david's buddy to transfer all our pictures to the new computer from the old computer and from David's laptop that we have been shamlessly using these last 5 months.
pss. of course we have no new pictures since we have been in the black hole of sick space the last 7 days.... no one wants to see any pictures of that!

What's our Emergency Room Co/Pay?

Ok, first off - no one had to go to the e/r - but not for lack of trying....
Below you will see that since we had 60 degree weather this weekend - we did lots of activities
ie: Emma was trying to learn how to ride her bike sans training wheels...

Rachel is driving the Mercedes... yeah, she's 12.5 yrs old but dad was letting her back it up
out of the drive and park on the road

Hope was trying to play roof volleyball with dad and rach and got her face clobbered ( again)
at least no bloody nose this week.

I need to say a big prayer of thanks tonite for surviving it...

um, she's psycho - what can i say?

today we made progress, i got her going and she did about 1/2 the driveway - then she picked up the idea when she wanted to stop to let go of the handle bars and wipe out... needs some more work.

dad actually seemed calm, had his arm draped out the window like he didn't have a care in the world, guess he knew he was inside german engineering...

Glad I missed the first trip up the driveway, she told me after the fact. What an awesome daughter, knowing exactly what I need!

Let it SNOW

ok, the good part about being snowed in was the fact that we had movies and rented Wii games before the storm.

What was really cool was playing MarioKart and in one of the race games it goes through a mall... and as we were racing Emma shouts out " look, it's Grammy on that poster on the wall " ... huh?

and as we take another lap thru the mall Emma says - look there's Grammy ... ok, i'm not as young as i used to be and i wasn't the biggest video game player in my life so it's hard for me to concentrate on whipping Emma's butt and looking at all the graphics on the game. Apparently, in this game it takes into account the people in your game file and Grammy is featured on the wall of this mall in a poster. Later in the lap, you go thru the parking lot and cars are backing up and you try to dodge them and I was driving one of those said cars too according to Emma. I think David is a driver and Rachel shows up somewhere else too. How cool is that? Not that I would of found this out on my own - guess the kids have there uses.

So here's to Grammy being immortalized in the Wii game here in Abingdon.

it was 1 degree outside on Wednesday so we did not venture out to sled or make a snowman -

yup, 1 degree....

ok, this is a crappy picture, it was snowing HUGE flakes and it looked so cool, i told the girls to wave out their window so i could take a picture, get outside, freezing... and the batteries die, i run inside, change the batteries come outsidge - get setup and ... it stops snowing.... it snowed for 3 days straight... i go outside to capture it and, " i got nothin' "

Well, it's been a week.
( A picture-less week too - sorry 'bout that )

Emma had the dentist last Weds to get her last tooth fixed, and as soon as we hit the parking lot after the effects of the gas hit her as well as the parking lot.... which really was a bummer because it was 'class picture' day and she didn't make it. Last year she had that awful fever/flu thing and didn't make her kindergarden picture either... at least i'll know to mark my calendar for 2nd grade.
Should I mention this was on a Wednesday??? do you all know what we do on Weds??? Ms. Glenda had my back for work that morning - and I dropped Hope off at preschool and grabbed all the food and pans for Wed night dinner and headed home to take care of Em's.... who knew our kitchen could cook dinner for 60? Emma recovered enough to help with the dinner crowd.

Emma did not get strep - and Dad thrwarted it with mind control!!

The weekend was low key - and the week started anew... all was well and ready to take on life, and it snowed Monday - school let out an hour early - Tuesday - school cancelled... one inch of snow on the ground - what will Weds bring? our bets are school cancelled again, it's supposed to snow tonite and that's all it usually takes. Good thing we hit the movie store today and have the Wii warmed up -- we got steering wheels and now we can play MarioKart and do lots of driving games.
