Moulin Rouge

Emma got a make up kit with her birthday money that is to be used on paper faces... it's pretty cool really - you can design looks on paper using the different cosmetics included.

Of course, it's only been used on paper one time - the rest is real time practice and tonite it was on each other - Hope has this thing for this neon red lipstick and with her white as a cracker complexion just stands out. but playing fashion show with a camera is always a good way to spend the evening when it's too cold and rainy to play outside yet!

I need a drink...

I took Hope today to Abingdon Elementary and filled out more paperwork that our last mortgage and she is offically on the roster for Kindergarten 2009 - 2010! August 19th both girls will get on the bus and the $64,000 question everyone is already asking is " what the heck am I going to do? "

Like I said, I need some booze later! This parenting stuff isn't for sissy's!

Twister Night

Emma was in the garage in the yard sale corner and found the game Twister... who needs to take a Yoga class when you have this Milton Bradley classic?

School Project

Emma needed to make a robot for school - they will all be placed in the display window by the front office... i think that is the only reason for the project but hey - David and Rachel had fun helping her in the process of it !

Back again.............

ok, i've just gone ahead and loaded our old software on the new computer so we can get pictures on the blog..... it's been a busy month - when we were not sick -- so here's to catching up with us!
Hope's a Rock Star!!

too cool for you...

not sure about the cereal bowls but it's a good picture!

Memaw and G-daddy came and got Emma from SCHOOL....and took her out for her birthday shopping trip... nothing like getting out of school a little early and going shopping! Plus they spent the night and we got to see them too! wahhoo! David made shrimp and grits and suddenly i really am not missing having meat! I made up for the healthy meal with a big pan of Ghiradeheli chocolate brownies... whoops.

here's Rachie

ok, this is for the record, here are the AEP guys cutting down all our trees out back - they will be back later in the spring to plant new ones that wont grow into the power lines.

Hope is posing for her "tool project" for school. Her first homework assignment, she uses a tool and brings it to school to demonstrate for the class what it does.

Shockley's = Cooking

Christmas in March? We never got around to making our gingerbread tree and dad and the kiddo's broke it out while i was out.

um, I dunno...

Emma opened her birthday present from Grammy and Zorro - Pop/Swap Polly pockets!
Just what she's always wanted!!!
Thanks Grammy.
Emma's birthday presents from her friends, the pj's / slippers / bracelet, necklace / purse
this was right after her bowling party - you can tell because we all had to take a shower when we got home since they still allow smoking in the alley - we all stunk!!!

Um, not sure about Daddio - but Rachie is there - such a champ - never complained that she had the dreaded stomach bug at Emma's bowling party! What an awesome sister!!

Hope with a 12lb ball - no kids one left.... at least no one broke their foot.

Emma and her buddies.

Emma blowing out her imaginary candles on the cake - I guess I need to have my mum superman badge revoked for forgetting candles for the cake.

Em's and Rach

Check out what Daddio made for Emma!
How awesome is that cake?

I brought the above to school on Emma's birthday for Lunch!
All the kids in the lunchroom knew what was in the box.

2/27 - Happy Birthday Emma!

Friday was the big day for Mz. Emma - 7 years old!
Hope and I went to the mall and picked up a huge chocolate chip cookie with her name on it and brought it to her school for lunch with her class! Talk about being a popular mom, all the kids recognized the box, I guess that is where Emma got the idea herself.
/
Friday afternoon after school, Emma got home off the bus and I let her open her presents from Grammy... i wish I had the camera at the second she opened the package and saw the "pop and swap" polly pocket doll set! It's what I've always wanted!!!! and a second polly with a kitty ( from Zorro of course )
/
I handed the girls off to dad and went to get Rachel as an added birthday bonus! We met them at Chili's for Emma's birthday dinner.
then back home where she got to open the rest of her cards and present from us.
///
Saturday was Party Day!
Emma requested a bowling party - so we got to the alley and with 5 girlfriends had cake and pizza and drinks, opened presents and then bowled for an hour. ( saturday - was a frog strangler type of day and the place was packed with people waiting for lanes to open up - who knew? and ahhh, the lovely smell of cigarette smoke // showers were had by all once we got home )
.
bad news of the day - Rachel apparently had "THE STOMACH BUG" that we all had 2 weeks ago - i didn't realise she got up at 5am and then hung out on the couch till we all got up around 7ish ... poor thing, went to the alley and played like a champ with all the girls and was a wonderful big sissy to Emma on her day then claimed the couch for the rest of the weekend. It doesnt matter how old your kids get, when they are sick and when they cry it breaks your heart, and it seems to get worse now that she's older because you just can't give her a kiss and make it better. ( i mean we did and do but... you know, it's not the same - she knows she sick )
/
but all in all - Emma said she had a great day.
Thanks to all who sent cards and calls and presents!
/
ps. how is she 7 YEARS OLD?

pictures coming.....
