Hopester

While we were gone to Baltimore last friday and saturday - Hope and Emma stayed with Memaw and G-daddy - and an awesome time they had... but the funnies of note are: Hope was crying on Friday night and after some calming by Memaw and an ice cream procured by G-daddy and Emma from DQ, she let itbe known that she was upset because she had to go home on saturday... not that she missed Dad or myself! Second - was saturday am, they went to K&W Cafeteria for breakfast and Hope asked the lady for bacon AND sausage... to whit, the woman was a bit surprised, till Hope explained that she hadn't had any for 40 days because mom and dad gave it up for Lent.

Spelling

I think I have mentioned before that Emma has been doing extra spelling words - and fairly difficult words at that, Rachel couldn't spell one of them and I have to stop and think ( but that's not a good guage as I can't spell for squat ).

Well, last night at dinner, David was saying something about something and decided to spell
S-h-i-t instead of saying it. Guess who sat there quietly then said it at the dinner table?
.
Whoops, Mr. Mensa himself forgot about Em's.... then we had to discuss why that it is a bad word and to please not repeat it.

Packing a suitcase

the girls were ready a bit early this morning before school so I sent them upstairs to start picking out some clothes to pack for trip to Memaw/G-daddy's...
Both came back down within 5 minutes - all packed and dropped their bags by the door.
I have just finished with laundry and decided to double check the bags...

Emma: 2 dresses ?? - 3 outfits - nary a sock or underwear.............. and her pj are blue plaid flannel bottoms with the purple psychedelic kitty flannel top.

Hope: 3 dresses ( granted these are usually what she sleeps in ) legging pants - not a single shirt and pant to match - and one pair of underwear.......

good thing i peeked, they may have been going commando by the time we got back on saturday!

Big What???

I'm upstairs cooking dinner - Hope is coming upstairs calling "hey Mom!" - I turn and see her holding her finger and she looks at me and says "I've got this big ass.... " to be true, I stood there looking at her waiting for her to finish the sentence, like - cut or scrape or booboo... ( not that she would of heard a sentence in that context in our house ) - but nope, she's looking at me expectantly. So I ask her "what was that?" . Hope repeats a bit more clear
" I've got this big eyelash ".... oh, eyelash... it's kinda sad these days are numbered!

I was sitting on the couch watching late night tv when I hear the pitter patter of Emma bounding down the stairs.... she came up to me and smiled... eeeww! it was a bloody smile too - I thought this would get easier but it's starting to make my stomach get queasy when she tells me how she was twisting her tooth in class that day and knew it was coming out sometime soon because she heard it pop!

So here it is... #8 and now she is symmetrical on top!

Emma was excited to get " all those quarters " from the TF. This is what happens when she loses one at 9pm! Not a George Washington to be found in the house!
