How Many??????????

We got new fish on Saturday - to make up for the 6 we killed in the first 3 weeks of our tank life - ( just after the warranty ran out ) - and guess what? David and Rachel and I were on the couch last night watching TV when we noticed this small thing zinging around the tank. David went over to look and there! another thing zinged... What the?? It seems at least one of the fish we got on Saturday was with child, and it ain't just one!
Last count was 25+ Babies ....
This is just a mere 10 gallon fresh water tank, do the math, they all ain't going to fit or be staying long, let's hope Petsmart wants some of them back!

Hope Goes to the E/R

How pitiful! Here she is - arm in a sling and lots of ice on top! Not the kind of sundae we recommend. Such a tough girl though, so much for flip flops on the playground, it's a new Shockley rule ( which we had but I let slip for onnnnnne day ) sneakers or nada!
Hopefully she'll get the all clear on friday from Dr. Myers............

Alas, there is a garden....

Here it is... its about 5ft x 10 ft i guess.... and far from the gas line this time.... we hope. Today I add seeds and plants..........

While I was off to Lowes for peatmoss and manure, Hope was testing the dirt apparently.

Hey, we grew a Hope!

Girls were making chocolate milkshakes.........

Mudslide anyone?

running thru the sprinkler

Hope after being picked from the garden....

Holiday Weekend Stuff...

We all went to church to help me set up for Plumb Alley Day on Saturday and we ran into Jeni and invited her to dinner with us, then we invited her to spend the night.... it was her first sleep over and I think it was a success! Up till 11 whatever and up at 6am... I don't know how kids can do it.

Some of my new designs for Plumb Alley Day

Chunky is in so they say...

Not quite right for slip /slide - but kids get to play with water....

Em's

We didn't have stuff for water balloons, so they got the easter egg stash and used those

Helping to 'de-bird' the cars... the feeders are cool, all the new additions to the cars are not.

EEEEWWWW.

There she goes....

Gazpacho soup?

Hope's Last Day of Preschool

The Pre-k class got to have a water party for the last day of school - thank goodness it turned out to be an 80 degree day! How can Hope being going to school in August???
Hope lounging in the sun.

Dad made it for the potluck luncheon with the folks.

Not a bad sprinkler, the ball shoots out sprays of water all over the ball.

Ms. Chris and Ms. Holt, her teachers.

Hope and her buddy Kayle A.
( somehow there are 2 Kayle's in her class )

Why is there always a story?

What is this a picture of??? Well it's not the garden we intended to till up yesterday - it is the line from the propane tank to the house.
Yup, David was tilling the garden, in our new spot, closer to the house - blah, blah - and whoops, he cuts the tiller off and we can hear it hissing. After evacuating the family - he trek's back with the 'men' of the neighborhood and cut off the tank and call the company. At least it's just our emergency heat and gas logs, instead of hot water tank.

Bad Mom #2

Ok, it get's even worse... I did the blog - then looked to the camera and realised, yes, there are more pictures on it even as I type.. what a moron! I was wondering where the ones of Rachel were... talk about tired. My apologies to Rach.
-
did you all notice - David and Rach have the same stance... It was like looking at the mirror image of them together... and if you look at the 3rd picture of Rachel hitting, she has the same stance and face Emma has on her swing picture... it was Shockley day at the field.

Bad Mom

Sorry, I've been a bad mom - had pictures for a week now and haven't gotten to the blog.
Many apologies............ I forgot and loaded them in reverse order so here we go:
Emma at the church workday last Saturday.

Hope.

Jeni, Hope and Em's
the three Musketeers

Dad and Rachel, fainting from the heat
( it was rather toasty and I got my first burst of color, unfortunatly
it's on my back )
G-Daddy and the crazy kiddo's

Memaw and ditto....

Silly's with G-ma Rachel

Don't you just wonder what's going on in her brain?

Now we know where Hope gets her looks!
It's all right there in that row.

Sugar Hollow Picnic
The end of the church year - we have a picnic at the park and the kids feel the need to jump in the creek in the back ground, no matter how freakin' cold the water may be... at least we've learned over the last 4 years, to pack backup clothes, towels, watershoes, and an extra prayer.
David and I served up about 80 folks last Wednesday and are looking forward to the summer break.
What??? I can't go back in?
Thanks to the grandparents for a great day last friday - we enjoyed the trip in to Roanoke to visit and relax and have a fun day then go get Rachel at her softball tournament. We do wish we could see a full game of Rachel's one of these day - it was called for lightening, again! Then on Sunday it was called for rain........ sigh.
