First Day

I think the hardest thing for Hope today was not being able to change her clothes 82 times during the day. She got off the bus, said hi and headed upstairs and changed! That's my girl.
Both had good days........ whew........!

First Day of School

First day of school, 2nd grade and kindergarten - my 8th grader starts tomorrow............. ahhhh.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, no tears this morning - not a lot of breakfast eaten by either but that's ok,( I barely choked some real coffee down this morning,) lots of smiles and Hope got on the bus...!! this was in heavy contention yesterday when the tears were flowing. I offered to drive this morning only if needed and made sure I hit the shower in case. But these two got up on their own at 6:50 and were ready to go!!!

Em's and Hope ready to go

Hope with her name tag for the week
pretty cool, who she is, what bus she should be on and where she's going at school!

Em picked a dress today...

need to thank Jeni for the shorts that didn't fit her and look great on Hope!

That's our baby!

Emma was sooo excited at registration, she KNOWS everyone in her class! I see another Rachel in the making, social butterfly............

Back To School

I feel like Santa, I've checked the list over and over and think we have all bases covered.
I love that they put an approximate amount on the supply list's so you know how much you need to spend times 2!

Time to Mow?

If you can barely see the bunny - it really means it's time to mow the back yard!

The Drama Continues...

Emma was really grounded for the first time yesterday - and not only did I have to deal with her and her tears but Hope's as well. She was sooooo sad she couldn't play with Emma .. I guess I kind of taught them both a lesson at the same time but whodathunk? Hope is such a sensitive girl!
.
Let's hope this does it for a the next few years, Emma's 7 years old not too shabby to have her first real grounding.

Cool for cats...

I was working at the children's consignment sale and dad and the kiddo's were playing/working outside for the morning, we had the really weird looking thing up in the sky saturday.... um, the sun /??/?... and it was hot!!! who'd a thunk in august eh?

donut face

parsley bug - eat's um, yup, my parsley plants...

but that's ok because it's cute!

get off!

so much for the sand, we had more grass and whatnot growing in the sandbox than sand so now it's back to being a pool......... ahhhhhh.

Balloon Rally

the last weekend of the Highlands Festival is the balloons!!! the winds were off this weekend and it was the first time since we've moved here we were not greeted first thing in the morning by a passing balloon right over the house! Nothing like making some tea first thing in the morning and hearing this loud hiss right out the window and looking up to see a hotair balloon over your backyard! Last year the balloon was so low they asked for directions and if it would be ok to put down across the road at the cowpasture....?

Energizer Ears?? It will make sense in a minute....

right in front of us.

and off they go...

so cool...

um.... nope it's not a huge spilt bottle of pepto bismal.....

getting bigger

what the?

the enegizer bunny balloon?

yup

this is apparently the biggest hotair balloon made, as you can see it dwarfs the normal balloon.
it didn't fly off - just stayed around hoovering over the field.

dad and the girls are under the foot

bellyshot!

trying to not get stepped on.....
