Weekend at Winston-Salem April 14, 2012

So david says during Emma's soccer game on saturday morning, let's go somewhere....

um, ok. So we head off to the big town er, city of Winston-salem, NC. We are going to go see a minor league game, got the fever i guess and it's affordable. Got so lucky with a great hotel in the middle of a cool section of town, walking distance to the game, great nite and weather, didn't get cool till it was time to walk back to the hotel and it didn't matter then! Stopped to get some frozen custard, mmmmmm and a picture of a Mr. Charles Peed, atty... david tried to get a picture of the girls by the window and dropped his IPhone which shatters the faceplate into many many pieces, this is number 4 or 5, can seem to confirm which at this time.... we started off at dinner at a Thai place that also had Pho...... man, we are going back there one day for sure!

Hope getting some practice before her sushi arrives....

On Sunday we took the walk to Old Salem, neat walking path thru the city! stopped at a water feature in the middle of the city! What is it with us and water features? no one went in this time though!

New York City 3/2012

Ok, so I input the pictures in the wrong order, so this is our trip to NYC backwards......

this is dessert ... apple tart with homemade vanilla bean ice cream....

We split the seafood and orzo and tomato dish at the Greek Restaurant Avarny..... sooooooo good!

Greek Salad, never mind the pesky lettuce... fresh veggie and a huge peice of feta cheese!

view form the roof top of our hotel........ awesome skyline. Too bad we went up there on the nite it was 35 degrees instead of the other 2 nites that were more in the 60's....

I had such a great time walking around NYC, all of a sudden there would be a little park for kids or one for all with benches and it was so quiet in there!
